Impression Social Media 2017 [2017-19]

Visual language is the oldest form of communication and through the explosion of social media is now again the voice of the people. With it though comes an apparently low ability to look and reflect on what we are flicking through

A number of works over the past few years have addressed the way we ‘view’. ‘Impression S.M’ was a series of 400 phone sized portraits based on Instagram posts from 2017. The perverse idea resulted in over 800 hours of work to be displayed in one giant 20 x 20 grid, giving the individual images a more permanent life span ( & elevated importance as it is now ‘Fine Art’?), but with the knowledge that it would most likely be given no more than 30 seconds attention.
